NFL Predictions

Some good games this week with Jags Indy, as well as some games that will determine whether or not they have to pack it in for the year and start playing for 1st pick in 2008 draft ie eagles bears and jets cincy. Start with the blowout of the week.

New England at Miami (1 p.m.): Should be a blow out, however the Patriots will be the first to point out that they have been beaten by the Dolphins 4 out of the last 6 games they playing in Miami as well they shut out NE's offense last year. That being said, Patriots still blow them out.

Line: Miami getting 16.5

Atlanta at New Orleans (1 p.m.) New Orleans came out strong last week and were able to notch up a win finally. I think they continue it into this game and beat up on a weak Atlanta team, Leftwhich will make no difference.

Line: New Orleans giving 9

San Francisco at New York Giants (1 p.m.): Eli Manning has to stop heaving the ball when he gets into trouble. The "kid" still drops back and chucks it into groups of defenders a couple times per week. However at least he has an arm that can throw the ball, Alex Smith on the other hand (if he plays) may not be able to throw the ball more than 20 yards. Giants win this but i think it is a close game, Frank Gore will keep SF in it for a while.

Line: New York (A) giving 9

Arizona at Washington (1 p.m.): Arizona has no one to bring to the table, a banged up Warner will not get the job done, Washington wins it.

Line: Washington giving 9

Tennessee at Houston (1 p.m.): The Titans have qb issues with Vince Young and that may make the difference. Houston is playing great ball and Schaub actually makes this team feel like its a winner. Houston takes this one barely.

Line Houston getting 1

Baltimore at Buffalo (1 p.m.): The Ravens defense should screw with Edwards all day; they really can make this kid go nuts by the end of the game. Although the Ravens are bringing Boller to the table they still win this one.

Line: Buffalo getting 3

Minnesota at Dallas (1 p.m.): Dallas has to deal with the loss to the Patriots last week which shouldn’t be hard but by the way Patrick Crayton and the Dallas offense cried after the game who knows. Adrian Peterson had a great game last week, unbelievable really. But that will not happen this week, Dallas is going to stack the box and will be able to hold him down. Dallas wins.

Line: Dallas giving 9.5

Tampa Bay at Detroit (1 p.m.): Tampa Bay is playing lights out, however they haven’t had a running game. This week since the Detroit lions have such a terrible defense expect Earnest Graham to come out strong. Although, this game will be played by the Detroit offense and the Tampa Defense, should be fireworks. Tampa's defense will be the factor and they will come away with the win.

Line: Detroit giving 2.5

Kansas City at Oakland (4:05 p.m.): The Chiefs were not clicking early however that has changed. LJ finally got his legs again and put up big numbers and nothing on Oaklands defense suggests they can stop him. As well Bowe and Tony G are making moves. KC wins in the black darkness known as Oakland.

Line: Oakland giving 3

New York Jets at Cincinnati (4:15 p.m.): The Bengals should not only have one win, its unreal that this offense is producing that little. However, the Jets are not going to have anyone to stop them and CJ TJ and Carson should blow up in this game. Look for Thomas Jones to have a great game, and maybe even a Kellen Clemens sighting.

Line: Cincy giving 6

Chicago at Philadelphia (4:15 p.m.): Chicagos defense is ravished with injuries, they are unrecognizable from last year. Philly is not in any better shape but Westbrook and McNabb should tear this D apart. Philly wins.

Line: Philly giving 5

St. Louis at Seattle (4:15 p.m.): St Louis is terrible...let me say that again, they are terrible. Seattle wins this even without Branch. (Hint: good fantasy note, play everyone who plays the rams each week)

Line: Seattle giving 8.5

Pittsburgh at Denver (8:15 p.m.): Pittsburgh has been able to find a way to win even without a couple key guys, and now they are getting them back. Denver doesnt really have a chance.

Line: Denever getting 3.5

Indianapolis at Jacksonville (8:30 p.m.): The great game of the week. Garrard is playing great, the running game is awesome and they are in Jacksonville. Indy is going to go in with something to prove (that they should be the ones everyone talks about) and they just had the bye week. Should be a great game. Jacksonville wins with the home field advantage.

Line: Jags getting 3

(Home teams are the ones getting or giving)

for some reason I picked SF over NYG..... i don't really know why, but it just stood out to me. I have no sound reasoning behind this execpt the "frank gore could go nuts" corellary.........weak.

Ahhh...weak call going against the G-Men. I actually have my reservations about this week (It qualifies for 2 of the five trap game rules plus the bonus). But you just threw that out there and took no responsibility if you are wrong.
Dilfer is definitely starting so I like the Giants. The G-men are much better going towards a stationary target like Dilfer. When Alex Smith plays, SF will move the pocket a lot with bootlegs and other delay plays, so I am glad he won't start. The big factor here is that SF gets a starting LT back, makes it hard for Osi and whoever else is rotating to that side. They should still get some pressure though.
Vernon presents a terrible matchup for the Giants linebackers. And their defense is decent. I would not be shocked if SF took this game.
My biggest concern is if Plax doesn't play because he is on short rest from the Monday night game. Even with Nate Clements, SF would have to roll a safety towards him. Without Plax, the Giants lose the biggest weapon in their offense and would let San Fran's D blitz more often...it would be really hard to adjust to.

That said the G-Men are at home and smell blood. Final prediction is: Giants 23, SF 17. (Line is Giants -9) The line is in "meh" status...Tease that down as far as possible. If necessary just take the money line...Giants should take this at home.
